On 07 Jun 2012, troops of 6 Assam Rifles under aegis of Headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles recovered illegal IMFL from one Maruti Van at Sonari Road, Tizit. During the search of the Van, a large haul of illegal IMFL worth Rs. 63,000/- was confiscated. The Maruti van Registration No. AS-04 B 0079 was carrying 14 cases of Mc Dowell Rum, 06 cases Mc Dowell Whisky and 19 cases of HEMAN beer. Two individuals namely Hasmotddin Ahmed of village Chengalibari, Shivsagar and Nakong Konyak of village Tizit were apprehended. The apprehended men and liquor were handed over to Police Station at Namsa.
