42 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised green drive campaign in Chandel District. A total of 700 saplings were planted at Machi, Larong, Bongyang, Pallel and Chandel. The Commandant 42 Assam Rifles said that it is the major step towards afforestation for greener Chandel. He also expressed concern regarding the climate change in Chandel district due to deforestation and motivated people of Chandel district to preserve the biodiversity of Manipur. In another occasion, 9 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) organised a Medical camp at Moreh on 25 May 12 .The medical camp was conducted by a team of Medical Officers and paramedical staff of 9 Assam Rifles. More than 180 of patients were diagnosed and provided free medicines. The villagers expressed their deep gratitude and sincere appreciation towards Assam Rifles for their efforts.
