36 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) organised an excursion cum educational tour for the children of the remotest part of Manipur on 22 and 23 May 12. The children’s were from Sehlon, Changjal, Phoilen, Tuitong, Old Samtal and New Samtal villages of Chandel District. A total of 25 children were taken for a tour of Tulihal airport, Kangla fort, Loktak Lake, the Botanical garden and Zoological gardens, Imphal Keithel, the new Secretariat and the High court. This excursion was organised to inculcate a feeling of being a part of the main stream and to show the children that they belong to a state which is striving to be a developed and prosperous place
