18 SIKH of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) in conjunction with a Local Upliftment Committee, Thiyam Leishangkhong organised a friendly cricket match between troops of 18 SIKH Regiment and local youth of the nearby area under the sports leg of PARTNERS (Assam Rifles Towards North East Regional Students ) programme. The PARTNERS programme has been initiated by IGAR(S) to bond with the Manipuri Youth in field of education, culture, sport & miscellaneous activities. The MLA of Wangoi AC, Mr Lukhoi also participated in the match and appreciated the efforts of Security Forces in taking a major step to create cordial relation with the local population and wining their hearts and minds. The cricket match was witnessed by a huge crowd of around 500 locals from the nearby villages.
