27 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) broke out a major bush fire in village Chothe Khunao, near Waikhong post of 27 Assam Rifles on 01 Apr 12. Observing the huge flames and large amount of smoke emanating from amidst the fields, troops of 27 Assam Rifles with fire fighting equipment rushed to the incident site and promptly swung into action. The brisk and prompt action of 27 Assam Rifles resulted not only in the elimination of the widespread fire but also prevented loss to life and property.
